Jabriel Ballentine is an entrepreneur and teacher with expertise in organizational development and communications. He is Chief Executive Officer of Simmonds Ballentine, LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to the economic and political empowerment of the African Continent, Diaspora and people. He is also a founding partner of Ghenet Trading Company, which is committed to providing means for the fair and free trade of African and Diasporic commodities.
Jabriel broke into the advocacy world as a journalist: publishing a social justice monthly. The publication of that newsletter led to a position on former Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney’s D.C. staff, where he served as her Legislative Correspondent, Editor and Grassroots Liaison. In this post, he worked to connect community based organizations with Federal resources. Jabriel served as a Field Organizer for the Universal Negro Improvement Association & African Communities League and as a Youth Commission Chair for N’Cobra in St. Louis, MO. He has also published a full feature magazine on Reparations. Currently, Jabriel is the author of Reparations: The Blog
Jabriel holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. He is a Classical Liberal, and Radical Republican. Jabriel is married to a loving wife and has two wonderful sons.
